Highlights
Big, athletic Warmblood gelding
Placed to 1.10m, training 1.20
Powerful jumping canter and scope for bigger tracks
Introduction: Diamond B Captivate, affectionately known as ‘Cappy’, is an impressive 8-year-old Warmblood gelding with size, scope and presence. Standing at 17.2hh, Cappy offers a big, beautiful canter with a natural rhythm that makes distances easy. He has proven form up to 1.10m and is currently training 1.20m, making him an exciting prospect for a competitive showjumping home. He is offered for sale solely due to time constraints and a change in personal circumstances.
Education, skills and experience: Cappy has an established level of education and has been produced with showjumping in mind. He is confident over fences, enjoys his work and has the scope and athleticism to continue progressing through the grades with the right rider and program.
Showjumping: Showjumping is Cappy’s primary discipline. He has placed up to 1.10m and is currently training at 1.20m. His powerful, balanced canter and natural jumping style make him a pleasure to ride to a fence and allows him to cover ground effortlessly while remaining adjustable.
General demeanor under saddle: Cappy is a forward, athletic horse who enjoys his job. He requires time and skill to achieve consistent collection and contact but he is honest and always aims to please.
Current workload/ fitness: Due to his age, Cappy benefits from regular riding (four or more times per week) to remain reliable and settled. He is currently in light work, ridden one to two times per week.
Handling and general behaviour: Cappy is easy to catch and generally straightforward to handle. Due to his size, he can be a little pushy or ‘in your face’ in a friendly way and requires managing when being led. He self-loads, travels quietly, stands well on the float and unloads calmly. He ties up happily, is easy to wash, reliable for the farrier and vet, and has not been clipped.
Vices or quirks: Cappy can be looky in certain situations and may hesitate or step sideways if unsure, however he is not a spooky horse. He may call out when other horses leave, though he remains willing to work and is he is happy to leave the other horses.
Feeding and management: Cappy is fed a calm or basic pellet with hay and is easy to maintain. He can be kept in a herd or paddocked on his own and adapts well to different management environments.
Medical history: Cappy has no past or present medical issues. He is currently barefoot, up to date with dental (March 2025) and vaccinated for Tetanus. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Tack and gear: Cappy is worked in a snaffle most of the time but may require different bits depending on the discipline or competition environment.
Rider Suitability: Experienced Rider defined as someone with a lifetime of experience producing and competing young and educated horses. Cappy would also suit a mature or capable amateur adult rider under regular professional instruction.
Reason for sale: Offered for sale due to lack of time with full-time work and starting a family.
Ideal home: An experienced, competitive showjumping or home where Cappy will be worked consistently and developed to his full potential.
