Confidence building junior schoolmaster for 110-115 junior
Safe, sane, sound, honest and straightforward to ride
Introduction: Sushi is an experienced show jumper to 130 level in 2024/25. He has also been a reliable and safe horse for his junior rider, who rode him as well, for the last 12 months. Sushi is ideal for a rider seeking a no-fuss, kind and competitive horse to help build the rider’s confidence, ‘eye’ and skills over the 110-130 tracks.
Education, skills and experience: Sushi is a brave, willing and reliable horse. On the flat, he is well educated and collects willingly. Sushi has automatic flying changes and established laterals.
Sushi is a ‘been there, done that’ experienced showjumper. He has scope, is adjustable and responsive. Sushi is honest and brave - he willingly jumps anything from planks to brick walls and water. He always aims to please and is tolerant of a ‘miss’ and a rider who lacks the perfect eye for a distance. Sushi has more wins and places at shows than you could count!
General demeanor under saddle: Sushi is a lovely horse to have around and is always ridden and handled independently by his teenage rider. He has a fun, eager to please personality and always tries his best. Sushi is a ‘parent’s dream horse’ with his willing nature and heart of gold. He is not worried by farm life, trucks, tractors, mowers, cattle and dogs.
Sushi can get a little worried in a very full and busy warm up with lots of horses cantering towards him but he settles quickly, if given a trot. He can occasionally pigroot (with joy!) if jumped when super fresh but doesn’t continue or escalate. Sushi is very safe and reliable.
Current workload/ fitness: Sushi is ridden 4 times a week and is currently competing.
Handling and general behaviour: Sushi is easy to catch, saddle, groom, wash, travel (load, float, unload), shoe, and handle for dental care. Sushi is a fuss free bloke who takes everything in his stride.
Feeding and management: Sushi can be kept in a herd situation or on his own without other horses in sight. He is currently fed a simple diet of pellets, chaff and hay.
Medical history: Sushi was a complete failure as a racehorse, however, this means that he didn’t sustain any wear and tear while racing or develop any racehorse habits. He doesn’t have any medical issues.
Rider Suitability: Sushi has a heart of gold and will continue to thrive with someone who is a confident and balanced intermediate rider and appreciates his brave and fun nature.
Reason for sale: Sushi is very reluctantly for sale as his young teenage rider is no longer riding and nine horses are too much for his mum! He is very much loved and only for sale to the best of homes.
