Introduction:
Bamborough Bright Lights, known as Frankie, is a beautifully educated registered Welsh Section B gelding with an impressive show and dressage record. Frankie combines quality, manners and rider-friendliness which makes him a very attractive option for a child, junior rider or petite adult rider.
With a successful résumé across led breed classes, show hunter and dressage, Frankie is the sort of pony that will appeal to a family wanting a proven, well-produced pony to step into interschool competition, pony club, the show ring or the dressage arena with confidence. He would also suit a quality-focused show home wanting an established, reliable and beautifully presented Welsh gelding.
Education, skills and experience:
Frankie is a very well educated schoolmaster. He has competed and won or placed at state level, with highlights across led breed, show hunter and dressage. He is not currently competing as he has been outgrown.
On the flat, Frankie is soft and light in the bridle and willingly offers collection. He has low-level jump schooling over cavalettis and cross-rails, lunges quietly, and has been on trails, around cattle and sheep without concern. adds to his general exposure and sensible nature.
Frankie is registered with Equestrian NSW, Show Horse Council of Australasia — National Saddle Horse Register, Australian Saddle Pony Association and the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of Australia.
General demeanour under saddle:
Under saddle, Frankie is willing, responsive and genuine. He adapts to the rider’s competence and confidence, is tolerant of mistakes, and is described as non-reactive and unflappable. He feels soft in the contact and remains straightforward to ride, making him a lovely option for a child or junior wanting to build confidence on a well-schooled pony.
Current workload / fitness:
Frankie is in light work and ridden one to two times per week. He is easy to pull out of the paddock and bring back into work, does not need regular riding to remain reliable, and is safe to hop straight on after a spell.
Handling:
On the ground, Frankie is unflappable and easy to manage. He is simple to catch, lead, tie, clip and wash, and is good for the vet and farrier. He self-loads onto a float or truck, travels calmly and unloads sensibly. Frankie is well behaved for the farrier is happy and sound without shoes.
Feeding and management:
Frankie is currently on grass, with some hay added as winter sets in, and is an easy doer. He is versatile in his management and is happy in a herd or on his own, stabled 12/12 or 24 hours in a busy environment, or paddocked.
Medical history:
No medical issues, injuries, supplements or prescription medication have been reported. Frankie is up to date with vaccinations and dental. Pre-purchase veterinary examinations are welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability:
Frankie suits a child or junior rider, or a novice rider under instruction, wanting an impeccably mannered, established schoolmaster type to learn on and compete.
He reads his rider well, making him a smart choice for a family with show pony experience, a competitive show home, or pony club/adult rider club activities. Frankie offers a lovely combination of education, reliability, manners and proven quality.
Reason for sale:
Frankie's rider has sadly outgrown him. As a rare, younger schoolmaster, he has so much to give and teach another rider, so we have been entrusted to find a special new home for him.
