A heartbreaking sale — my Marley girl.

Marley was originally for sale at the start of last year, as I had doubts about whether she was the right fit for me. After developing such a lovely relationship with her, I decided to persevere. Unfortunately, a year on, Marley has shown that she just doesn’t enjoy jumping.

She truly ticks all of my boxes. She is amazing with my kids, prams, and all the craziness that comes with family life. She stands quietly tied up while the kids climb and play in the float, and nothing really phases her — even my husband using chainsaws or motorbike machinery.

She is great to take out on the trails, both alone and with others. I’ve taken her out many times by myself, and she is always reliable.

Marley has a real “look at me” presence in the ring and is always receiving compliments.

I ride her 5–6 times a week most weeks, but when life gets busy and she has time off (even a week or two), she comes back exactly the same.

At competitions, she is calm in the warm-up ring and not at all horse-shy.

I think she would make a wonderful mount for a mum wanting to enjoy trail riding, pole clinics, HRCAV/adult riders, or for someone balancing a busy life. She would also suit someone wanting to focus on showing or dressage.

She is excellent for the farrier (who doesn’t even mind catching her), and she is perfect for the dentist and worming.

I am not selling her as a jumper or eventer — simply because she doesn’t enjoy it.

She deserves the perfect home where she can build a strong relationship. She loves a cuddle and absolutely adores kids.
