Lovely natured TB mare.

Magic is a 16.3hh, 17 yo off the track thoroughbred mare. She has a beautiful nature, is the first one to approach you in the paddock and loves to be brushed and doted over.

She is good to shoe, catch, wash and float.

Magic has been to ode's, shows, rally days etc competed to 95cm with previous owner, 1m at home with myself 5 years ago.

Since I’ve owned Magic she has been nervy and does need time to settle down in a new environment.

Back story:

Magic has had inconsistent work since I purchased her in 2020, I have become a nervous rider after having children and as she is a sensitive horse picks up on this so tends to shy and dance a lot with me. Because of this I decided to lend her out to a young girl to go to pony club on and be used instead of being a paddock ornament, thinking I was doing them both a favour. After 6 weeks I checked in to see how she was and she was in terrible condition. Unfortunately magic has not come back from this the same horse under saddle. She has obviously been raced around and has returned to a horse that seems straight off the track, she makes me nervous, and I her, and this brings out the worst in her when I ride her. To be ridden she needs a confident experienced/advanced rider who isn’t worried about a bit of a shy and doesn’t mind an off the track thoroughbred type (can’t stand still, doesn’t like other horses running off ahead etc). My mum who is extremely confident has ridden her inconsistently with little drama. She was a wonderful jumper and always so willing to please, since returning I have not tried to jump her so I don’t know how she would be over fences now.

Her normal behaviours:

She can pull back when tied up to a float and can be pushy on the ground, so would need someone that has the time to establish better ground manners. Will tie to a tree or post all day no issues.

She can pigroot.

She does like to be with other horses but once she is out on a ride isn’t too fazed if her rider isn’t concerned.

Mag is not a marey mare at all.
