She's a smart, food-motivated young mare with plenty of personality. Riley is easy to catch and will generally come to you — particularly if she suspects food may be involved. She's good to lead and rug and is used to normal everyday handling.

She's an intelligent girl who learns boundaries quickly, although she's not above occasionally checking whether the rules still apply. She can sometimes plant her feet and be a little stubborn, but responds to calm, consistent handling and encouragement.

Riley is reported to be quiet to ride, although I haven't personally ridden her since owning her. She's still a young mare with further education and development ahead of her, so I'm looking for an experienced horse person rather than offering her as a beginner's horse.

Her main area needing work is float loading. Riley is nervous about loading into a straight-load horse float. Once loaded she travels well and unloads without an issue — it's the actual loading that worries her. I believe she'd be more comfortable initially with a truck or larger angle-load float while her confidence with loading is developed.

Riley is a funny, clever young mare who will suit someone who enjoys working with a horse that has a bit of character and is prepared to continue her education with consistency and patience.
