Talented Warmblood Gelding – Dressage Prospect

Belcam Commando

16hh | 2016 | Warmblood | Gelding | Dressage

A quality Warmblood gelding with an impressive bloodline, and plenty of potential to excel in the dressage arena.

Standing at 16hh, he has lovely movement and the ability to develop through the dressage levels with the right rider and consistent training. Originally purchased with eventing in mind, he has shown that jumping isn’t his preferred discipline, so we feel he would be best suited to a dedicated dressage home where his talents can truly shine.

Bred by Belcam Stud, renowned for breeding quality Warmbloods, he boasts an impressive pedigree with strong European bloodlines. Sired by Cooperit, out of Darreen Cleopatra, and featuring Contender as his grandsire, an esteemed European-bred Hanoverian, he has a quality breeding background to complement his natural movement and exciting dressage potential.

He has quality, expressive movement with established lengthening and collected gaits, flying changes, leg yield and smooth transitions. His collected trot shows great promise for developing towards passage, highlighting his potential to progress through the dressage levels.

Currently working on walk-to-canter transitions, half-pass, rein-back and shoulder-in, he has a solid foundation with plenty of room to continue developing. He has competed at Preliminary and Novice dressage, as well as eventing at 80cm, providing him with valuable competition experience across disciplines.

He has experience in a variety of environments, including competitions and trail riding, and has always been sound. He is well-behaved for the farrier, washing, worming and floating, making everyday care straightforward.

He is best suited to an experienced, confident and forward-thinking rider who can provide consistent work and clear direction. He can be a little spooky when introduced to new environments and may become lazy if not kept in a regular work routine, so he is not suited to a beginner or an inconsistent program.

With his quality breeding, lovely movement and exciting potential, he has so much to offer the right person. He would thrive in a knowledgeable dressage home that is willing to invest in his education and bring out the best in him.

Looking for a suitable, loving home where he can continue his development and reach his full potential in the discipline he enjoys most.
