Introduction:
The Nomad, known as Rusty, is a 9yo grey Thoroughbred gelding with proven 1* eventing form and current EVA95 competition experience with a junior rider. Eye-catching, established and in full work, Rusty presents as a quality option for a confident rider wanting to step into, or consolidate, around the 1* level.

Rusty has the benefit of current competition exposure, a solid foundation and the sort of practical education that makes him a lovely horse for a junior, young rider or amateur adult in a regular coaching program.

Education, skills and experience:
Rusty is an established eventer with successful 1* starts and current Eventing registration. He has also had significant success in dressage and showing and can be ridden bareback.

His background gives his next rider a sensible platform to keep building from. He is not a green horse needing to learn the ropes; he already understands the job and has the competition experience to support a capable rider wanting to gain confidence and consistency at this level.

General demeanour under saddle:
Under saddle, Rusty is generally very calm and reliable, while - like any performance horse - not being completely unflappable if something major happens. He is willing without being forward, easy to collect and is very straightforward to ride on the flat. Over jumps, Rusty is brave and honest. Rusty does not have any vices.

Current workload / fitness:
Rusty is currently in work five or more times per week and is currently competing. He does not need regular riding to remain reliable and safe and is safe to hop straight on after a spell.

Handling:
On the ground, Rusty is easy to catch, well mannered, ties up calmly, self-loads and travels quietly, and unloads without fuss. He is good for the farrier and vet and is currently shod. He is comfortable in busy environments and is not concerned by dogs or other pets.

Feeding and management:
Rusty is on hard feed and is straightforward to manage. He can live in a herd or paddock on his own, is content stabled 12/12 or 24 hours in a busy city setting, and adapts well to different management routines.

Medical history:
Rusty has no known medical issues and is not on supplements or medication. His last dental was completed in April 2026. Pre-purchase vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider Suitability:
Rusty suits a confident intermediate rider under regular professional instruction. He would be a wonderful match for a junior, young rider or amateur adult wanting a genuine eventing horse with current form and the education to support 1* goals.

Reason for sale:
Unfortunately, Rusty's owner has too many horses and he is now surplus to needs.
