Stella is a striking and athletic package by Questing R out of a Jive Magic mare. She competed as a 4 yr old in Young Horse classes and later competed with her young rider in Prelim, achieving 70 % scores. She was purchased 2 years ago as a dressage prospect however sadly her owner fell ill and recently passed. For that reason Stella had a quiet life for a year and a half until coming to me in September 2025. She returned to full work, working at Novice level — medium trot a highlight — with the ability and talent to continue through the levels with the right home. She has recently had a training session over poles and jumps and shows aptitude, keenness and scope to make a competitive, quality all-rounder; with three expressive paces and a powerful, ground-covering canter.

I find Stella to be a sensitive mare with a lot of ability who I believe would be most suited to a confident, sensitive and ambitious rider to bring out the best in her. She been recently ridden in and out of the arena by a competent 18 year old rider.

Stella was sold subject to vet check at the end of 2025 but sustained an extraordinarily unlucky wound on her glute during transport to the PPE. She had previously floated regularly to competitions very well without issue, we also floated her without issue a few weeks prior to the incident to get her teeth done. She has since fully recovered without any impact on her soundness or performance, however she does have a scar. She has been in full work for a couple of months and is now ready to find her next partner. She has had professional float training after recovery to ensure she is happy and confident again and has floated without issue since — however she requires space to stabilise and will need a spacious angle load.

I have experienced her to be forward going and alert however seems to thrive off routine and work. She settles into her work, she is happiest going forward with a job to do and can give a wonderful feeling with more to offer. Although she is sensitive and forward I have never felt her to be unsafe and she has been ridden on trails and beach rides (in company) by her amateur owner sensibly and quietly.

Stella is a ‘typical red-head’ mare and can be very sweet, attentive and willing but can be anxious at times and requires a patient, competent rider to instil confidence. She is good to handle — catch/tack up/shoe etc. No bite/kick and very safe to be around. Up to date dental and shoeing cycle every 5 weeks.

Stella presents a perfect, eye-catching package for the right person. Ideal confident AOR/PC/interschool candidate with excellent type, paces and pedigree to make an exceptional brood mare. Not suitable for nervous or inexperienced riders.
